After a thorough MSBA regulated study of addition/renovation and new construction options, a replacement school was selected. The 900 student grades 5-6 school features a highly efficient exterior wall system and a low tech solar wall application. Based on the Construction Management at Risk delivery method, the CM was required to implement practices and procedures to meet the project’s environmental goals, which include achieving a Massachusetts Collaborative for High Performance Schools (MA-CHPS) accreditation.

“We feel that this is likely to be the best middle school project in the state. It met all the educational requirements, created some unique common areas, met and in some cases exceeded the state guidelines, was months ahead of schedule and greatly under budget…This project was the epitome of cooperation.”
