Recognized by the Massachusetts Historical Commission for sensitive design within a significant historic context, the Quinsigamond Elementary School features new construction that connects the original 1890 school building with the Quinsigamond Public Library that was built in 1913.
The completed project is a state-of-the-art 600-student educational facility occupying an entire city block. By preserving their exteriors while updating their interior space, these two historic buildings were revitalized and prepared to serve contemporary educational purposes.
“Quinsigamond School is a perfect blend of historic preservation and new construction that serves as the jewel of this South Worcester neighborhood.”
