The three buildings of the former Worcester City Hospital complex, two former nursing residences and a surgical suite were renovated to office, treatment, and rehabilitation facilities for Community Healthlink. Over the past 20 years LPA has provided architectural services to CHL for changes to these buildings and other campus buildings. The diverse scope of the projects has included outpatient clinics, inpatient residential programs, administrative and records areas. The renovations included complete interior and exterior rehabilitation including masonry and stone restoration, windows, roofing, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection upgrades.
At the Queen Street facility, originally an inpatient hospital, the levels were converted to counseling and outpatient services. Centrally located in an urban area, the offices form part of a Community Healthlink campus plan. Offices and meeting rooms are strategically located on exterior walls wherever possible to capture daylight and views.
