A nationally renowned institution, the American Antiquarian Society is an independent research library founded in 1812. Lamoureux Pagano Associates was engaged to redesign various spaces in the main reading area including an exhibit room, microfiche room, provide acoustical treatments, and handicap accessibility in an architecturally sensitive design. Later, the firm was retained to provide an extensive master plan study of the campus to solve problems with expansion, parking, security, and protection of the priceless historical books and documents. The solution included a new collections wing and parking garage which sensitively addressed the context of the neighborhood and existing historical building.
